Alex police are looking for a man they believe is evading arrest for allegedly beating up his wife after accusing her of using muthi on him.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said they still could not locate the man who is separated from his wife, and his place of abode is unknown.
“We have been to his family and they all seem not to know where he is,” Maphakela said.
According to Maphakela the 26-year-old 7th Avenue woman came home from work to find her husband and his family at home. She prepared the meal and they all ate.
After the meal, the woman then ‘politely’ asked her husband and his family to leave as it was getting late and she wanted to go to bed.
As she was asking him to leave together with his family, the woman’s phone rang and she wouldn’t pick it up. The husband then made a fuss of that, suspecting that it was her lover calling. An argument ensued and the husband started accusing her of using muthi on him.
As the argument heated up, the husband then beat and kicked her and she ran away and went to lay a charge with the police.
In the meantime, her husband then left the house with his family.
Do you believe in the ‘powers’ of using muthi?
