Seminar to give tips on child development

Greater Alex Leadership Seminars, which is a series of workshops designed to empower the community, will hold an early childhood development seminar at Sankopano Community Centre.
The leadership seminar takes place on 20 September from 9am until midday and will look at issues of communication skills and early childhood development.
The seminars form part of an initiative that aims to create an interactive platform for pupils in high schools in Alex, tertiary students, neighbouring high schools, neighbouring suburbs, entrepreneurs, and the Alexandra community as a whole.
The seminar is organised by a youth organisation, the Creative Minds Movement, and targets all members of the community but with special emphasis on people running early childhood development centres in the township.
The seminar will address issues of communication and interaction and will feature subjects such as how to communicate effectively with parents, how to effectively get a message through to a child, and the implementation of games to show children how to communicate.
