VIDEO: Shoot out in Linksfield
LINKSFIELD - A shoot took place at the Linksfield off ramp near the N3 earlier today.
UPDATE: 1:30pm – According to Krishlin Govender from Sandringham Police Station, the BMW 1 Series has been recovered in Alexandra, however, the suspects are still at large.
UPDATE: 1pm – The suspects are believed to have attempted to rob a Shell garage at Eastgate.
Two of the suspects managed to get away in the stolen Mercedes Benz, while the other tried to hijack a blue VW Polo, but police managed to stop him.
Another eye witness, Adam Woolfe, said, “I noticed a sliver Mercedes rushing up behind me very quickly, I decided to not let them pass me, they were hooting so I thought it was an emergency, when they passed a male in a red shirt pointed a gun at me.”

UPDATE: 12:15pm – An eyewitness, Jadene Dessing said, “I was driving up Linksfield Road when I saw a silver Mercedes Benz hit the sidewalk and collide with a white Ford van. One suspect then got out of the vehicle and hijacked a white BMW 1 series and sped off towards Alexandra.
Krishlin Govender from Sandringham Police Station, said, “One suspect has been apprehended and 2 other suspects are still at large. Currently a police helicopter is trying to locate the suspects in the white BMW who headed towards Alexandra.”
The silver Mercedes Benz is believed to be a vehicle that was stolen in November 2014. The police then chased the Mercedes from Bruma where one suspect was apprehended.

UPDATE: Our journalist at the scene stated that a vehicle was stolen. The two suspects then crashed the vehicle at the corner of Linksfield and Club streets.
They then hijacked another vehicle and got away.
Initial report: We have received reports of a shootout on the Linksfield off-ramp near the N3.
It is believed that the suspects are going in the direction of Alexandra.
