A man with a previous record of housebreaking is in custody again after his fingerprints linked him to a second house robbery.
The suspect appeared before magistrate Reinier Boshoff at the Alex Magistrates’ Court for the crime which took place in May last year at a house in Kelvin. A plasma TV, music system and laptop all to the value of R50 000 were stolen. He was arrested in January this year.
The domestic worker of the house alleged that the suspect acted with three accomplices who are still at large.
The worker said she heard a car pulling up next to the house and thought it was her employer only to hear people in the house. One of the suspects approached her from behind, covered her eyes and hit her in the face. They then blindfolded her before ransacking the house. When it went quiet she pulled off the blindfold and screamed for help.
