TV series returns to the small screen

JOBURG - Those Who Can’t enjoyed a first season of only six episodes which aired on SABC 3 in 2012.

The Those Who Can’t TV series, which enjoyed a first season of six episodes in 2012, has been re-commissioned for 26 episodes and is said to be filled with hilarious comedy.

It will be broadcast on SABC 3 at 8pm from 29 June.

Every day in homes across the country, young people fumble for the alarm clock, stumble into the same clothes they wore yesterday, and go to school. For hours, they endure boredom, bullies and brats. Then, for the lucky ones, it’s home time. For the less fortunate, it’s a march to the sports fields, and then it’s home to hours and hours of tedious homework. Welcome to the life of a high school teacher.

Those Who Can’t takes viewers into a little-known world: the staffroom of an elite but dysfunctional private school, where the playground and staffroom are hard to tell apart, and the grown-ups are as mature as 12-year-olds.

The cast of Those Who Can’t include Sello Sebotsane, who plays the role of principal Ezekiel Dlamini; Grant Swanby, vice principal Victor Virgil; Chantal Herman, English teacher Sylvia Hiscock; and Robyn Scott as secretary Marlena Heinkel.

Other cast members include Loyiso Macdonald as the PE and geography teacher Woody Mabandla; and Kate Normington as guidance counsellor, Desiree Young, among other talented cast members.

Those Who Can’t is produced by Quizzical Pictures, created by Tom Eaton and Alan Committie, written by Tom Eaton and directed by Tim Greene.
