Online advertising company to help jobseekers
ALEXANDRA - A company is on a mission to get South Africa working.
A company is on a mission to get South Africans working. Neighbiz, an online advertising company, is using its corporate social responsibility role to help the unemployed and the semi-skilled seen at street corners trying to get jobs.
The company will use its online advertising to register builders, painters, plumbers, cleaners, cooks, landscapers, tailors and others, on a website for prospective employers.
“The website will advertise them through professionally-designed CVs to a wider employers’ market,” said Funiwe Nwosu, the company’s public relations officer.
Nwosu said they hoped the initiative would ease rising unemployment and poverty and the stress associated with desperation for work. “In addition, we will be contributing to crime reduction.”
The initiative started in May and has been registering workers in Soweto and Lenasia. The company advertised the service in Alexandra last week.
