Gauteng 10 111 lends a hand to two homes
JOBURG - Gauteng 10111 cleaned up Gerald Fitzpatrick Home and Thuthukani Orphanage in Alexandra, as a continued theme of honoring women, which began in August, at the start of National Women's Month.
The spokesperson for Gauteng 10111 Captain Pinky Tsinyane said, “Lieutenant Colonel Joyce Mhlongo and Lieutenant Colonel Eunice Mgudu took the women’s team [a group of women ] off to the Old Age home in Johannesburg. They cleaned the surroundings and contributed money to buy fruit for the old women at the home.”
10 11 members also donated clothes, detergents and groceries which was taken to Thuthukani Orphanage in Alexandra. Tsinyane said the children were happy to receive the gifts and to spend time with members of 10111.
The Old Age home’s spokesperson Henrietta Clementson said, “We are thankful to Gauteng 10111 for all the time they spent with the ladies and the cleaning and food they provided.”
