CWP hosts dazzling Heritage Day celebration

ALEXANDRA - Cultural beauty adorned the Sankopano Community Centre hall through radiant and dazzling colours of African attire and moving traditional dances in celebration of Heritage Day.

The Sankopano Community Centre was transformed into a cultural hub as the Community Works Programme (CWP) hosted its Heritage Day event, with guests arriving wearing African attire in radiant colours.

Young and old expressed their oneness and shared the beauty and vibrancy of their diverse heritage on the day while enjoying various cultural dances.

Portia Sachane, Region E CWP site manager, said the event was held to celebrate, relive, honour and respect Africanness through dance, displays and various African cuisine. The dances included the CWP group and the Venda Dance Group which enthralled the crowd through foot stomping moves and drumming.
