Bookmark Awards head to Turbine Hall

NEWTOWN – The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) South Africa will host its second annual IAB Digital Summit and Bookmark Awards at the iconic Turbine Hall in Newtown on 3 March.

The Bookmark Awards are an IAB initiative that aims to strengthen the profile of online media, and recognise and award excellence in digital creative work and performance.

Those who are eligible to enter include all agencies, publishers, production companies, software developers, brands and those who work in the digital space, regardless of whether they are IAB SA members or not.

The entries for the competition cover a variety of categories, including community, emerging digital technologies and publishing.

A panel of esteemed local and international judges which, this year, includes Alex van Tonder of Woolworths, Melissa Attree of Ogilvy & Mather, Moshoeshoe Monare of Times Media and Marc du Plessis of Caxton, to name a few, will take on the task of judging the entered pieces.

Josephine Buys, IAB SA’s chief executive officer said, “We were very lucky to have so many experts in the industry giving us their feedback. I’m quite confident the revised awards are a reflection of the industry, and certainly by the amount of entries that we received, we can be positive that we got that right. We had a record number again this year.”

The Bookmark Awards will take place on 3 March from 7pm at Turbine Hall in Newtown.
