Alex police nab 38 offenders
ALEXANDRA - Alex police had a busy weekend apprehending criminals who were on a spree to tarnish the name of the township.
Alex police had a busy weekend from 5 to 7 February as they apprehended offenders for various crimes.
Spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, said 38 arrests were made of which 10 were for possession and smoking of dagga, 17 for driving under the influence, four for assault, three for malicious damage to property, three for shoplifting and one for arson with the details still being investigated.
The accused will appear in court soon.
Maphakela has in the past urged the public to help curb crime by reporting any criminal activities to Alex Police Station or the station commander.
