The Alexandra Magistrates’ Court sentenced an Eastbank man to five years’ imprisonment for the possession of stolen motor vehicles.
The court heard that on 10 May last year police, acting on a tip-off from the public, went to Sibusiso Twala’s (26) home where they found two vehicles, a Chevrolet and Ford, that had been reported hijacked and stolen respectively.
He was arrested after he failed to prove ownership of the vehicles. He was given bail but missed some court appearances leading to his rearrest.
The vehicles were returned to their owners.
