Motorists versus runners on 14 July
WATERFALL - A turf war is set to unfold between motorists and runners in the Waterfall Estates area on 14 July.
The Nelson Mandela Inaugural Relay will see about 12 000 runners put their takkies on the tarmac.
The route starts in the Waterfall Estates polo fields onto Maxwell Drive running over the K60 Road, along the R55 to Maxwell Drive and back into the polo fields. Motorists are urged to avoid Maxwell Drive and the R55 between the two ends of Maxwell Drive.
Each team will be made up of 10 runners who will each run 6.7km so the team will run a total of 67km.
The relay activity will start at 6.30am to 3.30pm with the relay scheduled from 8am to 2pm.
