Major Crash: Truck loses cargo of bricks on N3
JOBURG - A major accident is causing heavy traffic on the N3 after a truck was involved in a collision with multiple other vehicles.
A major accident took place this afternoon after a truck crash on the N3 North after London Road, north of Johannesburg.
According to EMER-G-MED it is alleged that the truck, which was carrying a full cargo of bricks lost control and overturned, colliding with multiple other vehicles and crushing a bakkie against the barrier.
Multiple people have been injured, with one person being heavily entrapped, and in a critical condition, within the wreckage of the crushed bakkie.
Paramedics and rescue personal are working effortlessly to free him. The City of Johannesburg specialist heavy rescue team have been called to the scene.
The highway is closed and will be for some time. Motorists are urged to use alternative routes.
