Alex Home appeals for office furniture
ALEXANDRA – Old age home in Alexandra is looking for donations of office furniture.
The Joseph Gerard Foundation is in urgent need of office furniture for the newly-appointed manager at Joseph Gerard Home in 1st Avenue, and appeals for donations of filing cabinets, credenzas and bookshelves.
Non-profit organisation Rand Aid Association provides much-needed assistance to the foundation, a Catholic establishment that provides care for the elderly and pre-school services to the community of Alexandra.
Rand Aid has been assisting the foundation for the past 20 years by managing the payroll for its 24 employees, assisting with the financials, administrative management and the daily supply of well-balanced meals for the elderly.
A total of 150 pre-school children between the ages of three and six, and 36 frail and elderly persons are cared for by the foundation through the home.
