ALEXANDRA - Man awaits trial for possession of hijacked car.
An Alex man, who was arrested for the possession of a reported hijacked motor vehicle and denied bail, will reappear in Alexandra Magistrates’ Court on 23 June for a further bail application.
The vehicle was reported hijacked in Sandringham this month.
The accused was stopped while driving the car in Alexandra. When asked by the police for its ownership, the accused claimed that someone had asked him to drive it somewhere, but he was unable to tell the officers who the person was or where he was taking it.
The accused’s inability to provide the information led to his arrest.
