Fuel shortage looms

JOBURG – Fill up your car to avoid being stranded.

Motorists can expect to see fuel shortages at filling stations from tomorrow, 28 July, due to a strike of employees in the petroleum industry.

Clement Chitja, the head of the collective bargaining department at the Chemical Energy Paper Printing Wood and Allied Workers Union confirmed that negotiations with the employers broke down over a wage dispute.

The union represents workers who are employed by oil refinery companies in the country, meaning that services will be affected from depots.
