ALEXANDRA – Alleged rapist of 9-year-old relative awaits court appearance
A man who was arrested by Alex police was remanded in custody pending a court appearance for the alleged rape of his nine-year-old relative.
This alleged rape happened during the day on 23 July this year at the victim’s home on 2nd Street in Wynberg. The child’s aunt reported the matter to the police after being told about it by the child’s tearful mother.
Alex police spokesperson Lieutenant Allie Kodisang said the mother was told about the rape by a witness when she returned from work.
The little girl confirmed the incident and the tearful mother told the aunt. The victim alleged that the suspect had raped her on that day and many times before. She told the aunt that the suspect undressed her before penetrating her and put his hand over her mouth to stop her screaming.
The child also told her that he started raping her last year and when finished, he would give her R1 and told her not to inform anyone.
