Suspected murderer beaten, in hospital
ALEXANDRA – Suspected Nobuhle Hostel killer in hospital after public beating.
A suspected murderer was taken to hospital for treatment under police guard after some residents allegedly assaulted him before handing him over to the police.
The man is expected to appear in court after he is released from hospital and the investigation is complete.
Alex police spokesperson Lieutenant Allie Kodisang said the incident happened at about midnight on 24 July at Nobuhle Hostel on 6th Avenue. Police who attended the scene found a deceased man with a stab wound to his neck.
Police found the injured suspect with a group of residents and took him to Tembisa Hospital. An initial investigation indicated that the suspect and the deceased had apparently been involved in a fight starting from inside a shack in which blood and broken bottles were found.
