Criminal gets 20 years behind bars
BRAMLEY - Police celebrated after one of their suspects was sentenced to 20 years behind bars.
On 15 April 2011 Vusi Mnchunu commited a house robbery near the Bramley Police Station. According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, Mnchunu had also shot the owner of the house in his right leg.
“We later arrested him at the Pan Africa market in Alexandra,” said Maphakela. “He was charged with house robbery and attempted murder.”
Mnchunu (28) was sentenced on 4 July.
“He will also not be allowed to apply for a firearm license or be in possession of one in the future,” added Maphakela.
