Four Alex cars stolen in a week

ALEXANDRA – Residents lose four cars in theft spree in a week.

Four motor vehicle thefts were reported at Alexandra Police Station between 8th and 12th October this year.

Alex police spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang said at about 1am on 8 October, the owner of a white Toyota Hilux parked his vehicle in his yard in Ext 7 with all its doors locked and windows closed. When he woke up at 5am the vehicle valued at R40 000 was missing and hasn’t been found.

At about 5pm on 10 October, a resident of 12th Avenue parked his Toyota Corolla at his property with all doors and windows properly secured. At 9.30am the following day he discovered it missing. The vehicle hasn’t been found.

A 5th Avenue resident parked his unspecified motor vehicle at his property at about 9pm on 11 October. He had properly secured it including locking the steering wheel. He discovered that it had been stolen when he woke up at 7am the following morning.

A resident of Ext 7 also lost his R17 000 Ford Meteor motor vehicle to theft on 11 October. He parked and secured it properly at his property at about 9pm but found it gone when he woke up at about 10am the following morning.
