Call to end #FeesMustFall
JOBURG – Pastor Enoch Phiri does his part to douse the effects of #FeesMustFall.
Showing that it’s better to give than receive, Pastor Enoch Phiri has taken in a number of students who cannot afford to study at a tertiary institution.
In past years, the caring pastor has managed to personally touch the lives of more than 200 children by making a number of contributions through various means.
This year, Phiri has increased his usual contribution by taking in four students in need of assistance and is providing them with tuition, accommodation and food for the remainder of the academic year. One of the students will complete his law degree at the end of the year.
Phiri is stepping up his efforts and calling on all pastors in the country to join in supporting the #FeesMustFall campaign.
Last year, he managed to contribute more than R50 000 and is now looking to double the amount for the upcoming year. The next selection of students for Phiri to assist with financial support will take place in January.
”Educating our children is not only going to develop their lives, but will also change their background and the communities where they come from,” he explained.
The pastor, who is the host of two TV shows on 1Gospel channel, has been very vocal on key national issues including crime, corruption and abuse and he is positive that his plea will be heard across the country and will contribute to, at this time, ridding the country of the #FeesMustFall issues.
Those wishing to assist the pastor can connect with him at Restoration House in Soweto.
