Gruesome discovery of foetus

ALEXANDRA – Bloodied discovery of dumped fetus near Gautrain Station shocks residents.

An almost full-term foetus was found by a man who was collecting plastic bottles for recycling, next to the Gautrain station in Alexandra Ext 7 on 17 November.

Clifford Shiko, an Alex FM journalist and reporter who went to the scene said, “The man immediately called nearby residents and alerted Alex police.”

On the scene, Shiko found the foetus wrapped in multiple plastic bags in a brown box under a tree next to a stream. Alex police and Gauteng Pathology Services certified the foetus dead on the scene and took the corpse to the government mortuary. Shiko said, “The discovery was the fourth foetus reported to Alex FM this year and comes days before the annual commemoration of the international 16 Days of Activism Against Women and Children Abuse which commences on 1 December.”
