Man nabbed in stolen truck
ALEXANDRA – Suspect driving stolen truck awaits trial.
A suspect facing a charge of possession of a stolen truck was remanded in custody by the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court pending further investigations.
The suspect was arrested after he was stopped and found to be driving a truck which had been reported stolen at a petrol station in Rosslyn, Pretoria, on 22 August last year. This after its driver, who was en route to Midrand after a delivery in Rustenburg, stopped to buy food at the station.
With the keys in his hand, the driver watched the truck being driven off. He immediately called his employers and also reported the theft to the police.
The suspect was arrested days later driving the truck onto the M1 South at the Olifantsfontein Road onramp in Midrand.
