Woman found dead in her shack
ALEXANDRA – A woman found with multiple stab wounds in her shack.
Alex police are investigating a case of murder after a woman was found dead inside her 11th Avenue shack on February 1.
Spokesperson Lieutenant Allie Kodisang said the deceased was fully dressed and had multiple stomach wounds when she was found sprawled on her bed at midday. A broken padlock was found on the floor and her belongings were strewn all over the room.
Kodisang said Alex police were also investigating a robbery and attempted murder that took place at a bakery at midday on 2 February. The suspect at first pretended he wanted to buy bread, but while he was being served he took out a gun, demanded money, and shot the bakery worker. Another employee at the bakery gave him R40. He took their cellphones and a tablet before making a run for it. The worker who was shot is recovering in hospital.
