Alex police arrest man for allegedly raping his stepdaughter
ALEXANDRA – Child alleged rape victim fends off stepdad with a knife.
Alex police officers arrested a man in connection with the attempted rape of a young girl of an unspecified age.
The incident allegedly occurred at midnight on 15 March at their 4th Avenue residence when the victim’s mother was at work.
Spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Captain Allie Kodisang said the victim alleged that her stepfather started raping her when she was 14 years old, with the last incident allegedly taking place on 2 January without a condom.
In the alleged attempt, the victim said the suspect went into her room and asked her to go to his bedroom. She refused and when he allegedly tried to forced her, she said she drew a knife from under a pillow and tried to stab him in defence.
The suspect was arrested.
Further investigations will determine if and when the suspect will appear in court.
