Alex police on the hunt for two suspects after two incidents of attempted sexual assault
ALEXANDRA – Two women become victims of attempted sexual assault, one at her home and the other in a taxi.
Alex police are investigating two cases of attempted sexual assault on women by two suspects who are at large.
Police spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang said the first incident occurred at 3am on 31 March at a victim’s 9th Avenue home. The victim was sleeping when she was woken by someone undressing her. She allegedly realised it was her neighbour and screamed for help. The police are looking for the suspect who fled the scene.
The second incident occurred at 4pm on 1 April when the victim boarded a taxi in Alex on her way to Kew. The taxi driver had a companion who came to sit next to the victim. The man allegedly started touching her all over her body while he told her that he wanted to marry her. She tried to push him away and the driver also admonished him to leave her alone.
The suspect eventually stopped the abuse when the driver stopped to pick up another passenger.
