Man allegedly robbed by workmate and accomplice at his residence in Alex township

Alex police officers are investigating the alleged robbery of a man by a workmate and his accomplice.

Spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Captain Allie Kodisang said the incident occurred at 2am on 26 April at the victim’s residence in Alex.

The victim left the workmate drinking beer at a tavern and went home. Later, he was awakened in his room by someone who he later recognised as the workmate, allegedly searching him.

When the victim reacted, the suspect and the accomplice fled after allegedly stealing R1 000 and the victim’s cellphone.
