Helping out grannies
ALEX – Grannies receive a timely donation.
Twenty-five Alex grannies in dire straits received a timely donation to keep them warm and fed this winter.
The donation of groceries and blankets from St Paul Catholic Church, Maryvale was given at the Catholic Church on 3rd Avenue.
Doreen Maimela, who coordinated the event, said the initiative, helping the sick and vulnerable pensioners, has been ongoing monthly since 1999 under three components of neighbourhood, community and disaster relief.
