Suspect on drug charge granted bail by Alex Magistrate’s Court
ALEXANDRA – Suspect attempts to bribe cops over drugs.
A man was granted bail of R1 000 at Alex Magistrates’ Court on 26 July for the alleged possession of substance suspected to be drugs.
His case was postponed to 30 August by Magistrate Renier Boshoff.
Police, acting from a tip-off, arrested the 42-year-old suspect on 16 May at his Midrand residence where they found 11 packets of the substance in the kitchen.
When asked what the contents were, the suspect alleged apologised and proposed a bribe before he was arrested. Four cellphones were also confiscated from him.
The substance was taken to a lab for analysis.
