Alex resident behind bars for three years for housebreaking
ALEXANDRA – Security guard fights robber until police arrive.
An Alex resident was sentenced to three years imprisonment by Alex Magistrates’ Court for housebreaking.
Sibusiso Ndwandwe (25) admitted before Magistrate Renier Boshoff to the offence which occurred at a Wynberg scrapyard in the early morning on 6 May.
A security guard heard a window breaking and observed the accused with two accomplices entering the building. He called the business owner before following and tackling the accused who had moved to the main office and was tempering with a cash register. As he tackled the accused, the accomplices fled through the broken window.
The two continued tussling, with the confrontation continuing outside before police arrived on the scene.
