Finalists of Gauteng Sports Awards to be announced
JOBURG – Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation Faith Maibuko will announce the finalists of the Gauteng Sports Awards.
Gauteng MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation Faith Mazibuko will announce the finalists of the Gauteng Sports Awards at a media function on 8 September.
The event will be held at the Green Hills Stadium, Rand-West City, Randfontein, starting at 12.30pm. Highlights of the day will include the announcement of Sports Personality of the Year, Sports Journalist of the Year and Community Media of the Year.
Caxton publication Alex News is among the entrants for the Community Media of the Year Award, and if chosen as a finalist, this will mark the second time in a row that a publication from this group has been a finalist since the inclusion of the category in the awards list last year.
Winners of these awards will automatically qualify as finalists in the South African Sports Awards to be held towards the end of the year.
