ALEXANDRA – Man gets three-year sentence for theft from a friend.

 

An Alex man was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment by the Alex Magistrates’ Court for housebreaking, theft and attempted fraud.

Magistrate Rennier Boshoff sentenced Lesigo Masiame (21) on 15 November for the incident which occurred on 10 June. He broke into his friend’s house in his absence and stole a phone, sunglasses, jackets, shirts, and a wallet with Capitec Bank and other cards. He then went to the bank and asked to increase the withdrawal limit but was arrested when the biometric fingerprint testing didn’t match.
