Alex businessman killed on New Year’s Eve
Alexandra – A local businessman is said to have been gunned down outside his business on New Year's Eve.
Police are investigating the murder of a popular Alexandra businessman who is said to have been gunned down at his shop on New Year’s Eve.
Police spokesperson, Captain Allie Kodisang, said the businessman was outside his shop on 3rd Avenue with some people when the shots were fired.
Details surrounding the shooting were still unclear on Wednesday, 3 January. “All we know is that he was hit by one bullet in the head and several more shots were fired as the suspects were fleeing the scene,” Kodisang said.
Nobody has been arrested and anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of suspects is asked to come forward.
Local business chamber, the Greater Alexandra Chamber of Commerce and Industry, could not comment on this issue and asked the media to give the family time to grieve.
