Three years for burglar
ALEXANDRA – Lucky woman gets her stolen items back.
A female victim of a house burglary on 28 December recovered most of the stolen items after confronting a woman wearing her stolen sandals bought from the robber at an unspecified location in Alex.
The robber Sello Noge (24) sold the victim’s household items including a microwave oven, kettle and a bag with clothes to other people in the township.

The victim left her house on 6th Avenue secured and on her return later, found it burgled and the items missing. She was alerted of someone seen selling clothes nearby and went to the spot where she confronted the woman who claimed to have bought the shoes from Noge who was nearby.
Noge was restrained and handed over to the police by members of the public.

He was arrested and sentenced to three years’ imprisonment on 17 January by Alex Magistrates’ Court.
Most of the victim’s items were recovered. Damage caused in the burglary including damage to the door was estimated at R6 800.
