Two rapes hours apart
ALEXANDRA – Man rapes woman he promised help in other rape case.
Two Alex women were allegedly raped on 1 and 2 February.
Alex police spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang said the incident on 1 February was committed at about 3.30pm by a suspect who apparently promised to assist the victim after she had opened a case of rape against her father. The suspect and the father are friends.

The suspect and woman met at Alex Mall and he drove with her to a lodge in Kew where he allegedly raped her using a condom. Afterwards, the suspect threatened to hurt her and her family if she reported the incident. He then dropped her at Pan Africa Mall and gave her R10 for a taxi ride home.
The incident on 2 February, which occurred at about 10.45pm at an 18th Avenue home, was allegedly committed by two suspects. One of the men was a Toyota Avanza taxi driver who stopped to offer the victim a lift while she was walking on 18th Avenue. He promised to take her where she was going after dropping off two other passengers.
After dropping the passengers, the driver asked her to accompany him to his home and she agreed. In the house, the suspect took out a condom and money he promised to give her. He then undressed her and himself and raped her twice.

When they were dressing, two other men entered the house. One of the men offered her food but she refused, and he asked her why she was dressing. When she tried to scream, he threatened her and pushed her onto a bed, undressed the woman and raped her once using a condom.
