Police make 72 arrests

The Sandringham police made an incredible 72 arrests during the month of March.

The spokesperson for Sandringham Police Station, Captain Mohlaume Mamabolo, said the police arrested suspects for various crimes including assault, driving under the influence and shoplifting.

The following arrests were made:

• 17 for possession of marijuana
• 5 for assault with the intent to commit grievous bodily harm
• 3 for common assault
• 1 for murder
• 7 for theft
• 28 for driving under the influence of alcohol
• 4 for shoplifting
• 1 for trespassing
• 2 for the possession of an unlicensed firearms
• 1 for the possession of suspected stolen property
• 2 for fraud
• 1 for theft of a motor vehicle.
