Soweto’s Dobsonville Stadium will play host to the national finals of the Danone Nations Cup on 15 September which will see all the nine provincial schools finalists converging for this spectacular U12 soccer tournament.
Eight of the nine provincial winning schools have been identified with Gauteng being the final province to host their finals on 25 August.
Chantel Ehlers, Danone internal communications manager said the national finals have been moved from Reiger Park after a number of years.
“We felt it was time to make a change,” she said.
“Reiger Park has been the national finals venue for the past four years and we felt we need a new venue to breathe new life into the competition as well, and Soweto, the biggest township in Southern Africa, was a natural choice.”
The winning school of the national finals will represent South Africa at the world finals of the tournament in Spain next year.
