High-speed chase hijacker sentenced to five years
ALEXANDRA – Five year jail time for injured hijacker.
An Alex man injured in a shootout with police in a hijacking incident was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment in the Alex Magistrates’ Court.
Sandile Zwane (28) who limped in and out of the dock was sentenced after he admitted to the offence. He and two others who are at large, hijacked a Toyota Avanza from a female motorist in the early evening of 23 May as she drove into her home in Bramley.
The police spotted the vehicle hours later being driven in Alexandra resulting in a high-speed chase and shootout.
