Man nabs employee’s robber
ALEXANDRA – Glen Austin worker's robber gets 7 years jail.
An armed robber who was apprehended by his victim’s employer was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court.
Accused Comfort Mokwena (28) robbed a domestic worker of her handbag near her employer’s home. The woman was walking ahead of Mokwena going in the same direction at about 8.30am on 7 August in Glen Austin, Midrand. Mokwena caught up with her and grabbed her by her pants while demanding the woman’s bag at knifepoint.
She screamed which alerted the 58-year-old employer who came out of the house and saw the accused fleeing from the scene. He chased and apprehended him.
The police were called and Mokwena was arrested. The stolen bag was retrieved and handed back to the victim.
