Mbopha accused mounts new bail bid
ALEXANDRA – 'New evidence' prompts Mbopha murder accused's new bail bid.
The man accused of the murder of Alex businessman Mbopha Mashigo has submitted another bail application which will be considered in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court on 19 November.
Jonas Ramokola is accused of the murder of Mashigo on New Year’s Eve last year at the businessman’s eatery and entertainment shop on 3rd Avenue. This is one of many bail applications the accused has applied for in this long-running case.
Ramokola’s first legal representative was from the Legal Aid Board South Africa and later he hired a private lawyer. His current representative is also from Legal Aid and is applying for bail for his client on the grounds that new evidence had emerged.
