Robbery by stepchildren

An elderly man was robbed R500 by his stepchildren.

An elderly man in Alex was left bruised and traumatised by his stepchildren who robbed him of R500 in cash.

Alex Police Station spokesperson Captain Stephen Malatji said the victim who earns a living selling odd goods was robbed of the cash by his stepson and stepdaughter on 21 March at his home. This occurred as he was about to go to a bank to deposit the money.

The stepson allegedly drew a knife and was assisted by the stepdaughter in assaulting, searching and robbing him of the money. They apparently accused him of not taking care of them.
