ANC councillors call upon Herman Mashaba to come and give answers to the aggrieved residents of Alexandra

ALEXANDRA – ANC councillors call upon Joburg mayor Herman Mashaba to listen to people of Alexandra.

The councillors of the African National Congress (ANC) in Alexandra led by their whip councillor Moses Phandeka have called upon the mayor in the City of Johannesburg councillor Herman Mashaba to come and give answers to the residents who embarked in #AlexTotaShutdown yesterday demanding better basic service delivery.
Addressing journalist in a media briefing held in Alexandra Councillors offices in 8th Avenue this afternoon ward 105 councillor Teffo Raphadu said they as ANC councillors in Alex are in full support of the protest.

“Our media briefing today was prompted by Mashaba’ s utterances in Alex FM this morning when he told people lies saying we don’t report matters to the council. We want to set the record straight here. If Mashaba says we are not doing our job, people have done the right thing, they want to speak to him.

“He must stop being a celebrity and come down to the people and address them. We are in full support of the #AlexTotalShutdown and we will not disown or divorce our people, we fully support them. Mashaba must man up and come down to the people of Alexandra because he is their mayor too. He must stop addressing residents via Twitter or Alex FM,” Raphadu said.
Sandile Mavundla one of the organisers of the protest said if Mashaba does not come to them they will stop everything and not only in Alex but to all surrounding areas.
