Police nab nyaope suspect

BRAMLEY police arrested a driver in possession of nyaope to the value of R30 000 in Malboro.

According to police they were on their routine stop and search patrol when they stopped a car on 2nd Street. Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said the police searched the man and his car and initially found nyaope stashed in the cubby hole. “Upon searching further police found more nyaope hidden underneath the driver’s seat,” he said.

Maphakela added that the police also found R3 000 concealed underneath the driver’s seat. “The suspect was arrested for being in possession of and dealing in drugs.”

The 29-year-old man appeared at Alexandra Magistrate’s Court and was denied bail.
