DA donates solar lights to women’s hostel
ALEXANDRA - DA donates solar lights to a women's hostel which had no electricity since the beginning of the year.
The DA made a donation of solar lights to the Helen Joseph Women’s Hostel on 4th Avenue who had no electricity since the beginning of the year.
Bernadette Bule from the DA said they felt the need to donate since the residents have not had any electricity for so long. “It was very important for us to show our support,” she said.
The lights can be charged in the sun for 8 hours and they last for 36 hours. They can also be used to charge phones.
“I am so happy because now I don’t have to use candles anymore and I can charge my phone,” said one resident.
