The taxi financing company, SA Taxi has embarked on a mission to help taxi associations across the country improve their offices.

SA Taxi is an independently owned commercial business company that helps taxi operators who can’t get access to credit from traditional banks. The company has committed itself to an initiative to buy new office furniture and computers for taxi associations to use and help them improve their day-to-day business operations.

Alexandra Taxi Association (ATA) was the first association to receive brand-new office furniture and computer to use for their day-to-day administrative work from the company.

Matsidikanye Moswane, corporate affairs manager at SA Taxi, said as a company that operates with taxi operators they were committed to help transport entrepreneurs grow their businesses to eliminate the scourge of high unemployment rate country.

“As a company that operates with thousands of taxi operators across the country, we view ourselves as partners to the minibuses transport industry. Our partnership with taxi operators includes developmental responsibility to the transport industry.

“Two weeks ago, we launched this programme as a company to help our partners – the taxi associations across the country with brand-new office furniture and computers. Through the help of South African National Taxi Council (Santaco) we identify associations that we can help get new office furniture,” said Moswane.

Moswane added that his company will bring IT specialists to help associations instal and connect computers in their offices.

ATA secretary general Gabriel Mataboge thanked the company for its efforts to lend a helping hand to the taxi operators. “We are very pleased and grateful for the support we’ve received from the company. We hope that they will maintain the standard and reach out to other associations.”
