Armed robber of guards in hot soup
ALEXANDRA – Off duty guards victims of armed robbery.
A man who was part of a gang is appearing at the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court for the allegedly robbery of off-duty security guards.
The incident occurred at around 6am 28 July in Alex as the two victims were walking back home from work. The suspects stopped the victims at gunpoint and took a bag containing work uniform and a R2000 worth cell phone from one of them and, another cell phone and a wallet from the second victim before disappearing into a passage.
The incident was reported to the Alexandra Police Station prompting an investigation which found the accused in a shack near the crime scene. An unlicensed gun suspected to have been the crime weapon was found in the accused’s possession and recovered for analysis.
