City rebuilds Phase One shacks gutted in fire
ALEXANDRA - THE burnt shacks in Phase 1 were rebuild by the housing department after they were destroyed by a fire.
The burnt shacks in Phase One have been rebuilt by the City of Johannesburg’s housing department. It took the department two weeks to complete the rebuilding operation.
Head of the housing department in Region E, Simon Moloko, said that the rebuilding has been complete and the residents were back in their homes.
Resident Rufus Kgatle said he was happy that the building process was finished. “It was not an easy time because I slept at a neighbour’s house while my wife slept at another neighbour’s house,” said Kgatle.
