No arrests for police brutality
ALEXANDRA - NO arrests or suspensions of officials have been made since the attack of a 16-year-old boy by the police.
There had been no arrests or suspensions of police officers who assaulted a 16-year-old boy who tried to answer his cellphone in their presence.
Kgothatso Moshidi sustained head and chest injuries when the four policemen beat and kicked him in August. The boy’s aunt, Puleng Moshidi said the police requested a J88 form which must be completed by the doctor who examined her nephew to show the injuries he had sustained.
She said, “The form can only be filled in by the doctor who examined him and we are struggling to get hold of him.”
Warrant Officer Thinandavha Mulaudzi who is in charge of the case, said they could not proceed with the investigation because they needed the J88 form as well as a statement from the boy’s uncle, Oupa Moshidi.
He said, “Once we have everything then we can proceed with the investigation and find out who was driving the vehicles in question, and thereafter a case will be opened against the officials.
