Crew’s armed robber nabbed with gun

A man was apprehended in the possession of a gun allegedly used in a robbery and will appear in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court.

The accused was arrested at about midday on 29 May as he was apparently fleeing from the crime scene at the intersection of 6th and Richard Baloyi avenues. He and four others approached crew members of a company delivering a fridge to a home. They ordered the victims not to move and took their cell phones. Just then, the crew’s escort vehicle pitched up and the suspects fled from the scene.

Only the accused who had the robbery weapon was apprehended and handed over to the police.
