Man stabbed to death by older girlfriend
ALEXANDRA - A man was stabbed to death in the chest by his older girlfriend.
A woman believed to be in her 40s stabbed and killed her young boyfriend in a house on the corner of 11th Avenue and Alfred Nzo Street at about 10am on 28 September.
Lebogang Morudi (28) was stabbed in the chest three times and managed to get out of the house. The deceased’s brother, Ofentse Morudi said he was at the shops at the time of the incident. “On my way back I was told by people in the street that my brother was stabbed,” Morudi said. He said he found his brother lying in the street. “He was barely alive and in a few minutes he took his last breath,” he said.
Morudi said on his way back from the shops he had walked past his brother’s girlfriend who was holding a bloodied knife, but made nothing of it. According to neighbours and Morudi the couple had been arguing the night before.
The woman was arrested and a case of murder was opened against her. Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said the woman would appear in court to apply for bail. “She is in jail and her bail application is set for 15 October,” said Maphakela.
